Skin in Perimopause

Skin during perimenopause can become drier, thinner, more reactive. It’s not just age; it’s the body’s hormonal signals accelerating changes in skin function. Our formulations are designed to support skin through the steep transition with endocrine-safe, epigenetic science that restores hydration, strengthens the skin barrier, and helps you keep pace with the changes, gracefully.

Product recommendations

Dry skin, sensitive skin

Dry skin and sensitive skin can be improved by training the skin cells, akin to a fitness program. Often times, thick "rich" textured products do more harm than good.
For a full mornign and night fitness program, opt for our foundation system, the Quartet.
For a morning skin care, opt for our Bi-Phase. The application of these 2 powerful serums is equivalent to a moisturising day cream. For those used to thick creams, you may feel the products may not provide enough comfort at the beginning, but the skin will adapt as it goes through the "fitness" program.
For a night time skin care, our Exosome Advanced Night Cream helps support sensitive skin through targeted ingredients that improve the quality of the skin barrier.

Menopausal acne

For targeting the spots, we recommend the Acne kit, to be used 2x a day, where the Regulation Serum is applied only on the affected areas.
For moisturisation, we recommend the application of Vitamin C Serum-in-oil 2x a day on the whole face.
For an integrative approach, we recommend the addition of our food supplement Skin & Biotics.

The link between oestrogens & thyroids

Women on oestrogen therapy, particularly oral forms, need their thyroid function monitored closely, as oral oestrogen can significantly affect thyroid markers.

Endocrine system

Hormones are messengers that travel through the bloodstream to other parts of the body to tell them to do their job. Hormones help control breathing, blood flow, temperature, energy use, and mood, among other functions. For the body to function well, hormone levels should be balanced. However, sometimes hormones get out of balance. And in the case of thyroid disfunction, the symptoms are the same as perimenopause.

Skincare for Perimenopause

- Moisturise the skin with light textured skincare products.
- Avoid overstimulation of the skin by layering too many aggressive active ingredients.
- Include retinoids at night and vitamin C in the morning.
- Use a gentle cleanser and gently exfoliate (check Skin Diligent systems for achieving this).
