Skin & Biotics for Hormonal Balance & Gut Health

Active Ingredients

PECTIN: Well known fibre for the microbiome and for its ability to bind to heavy metals (a detoxifier).

BETA GLUCAN: Normally found in oats, but the beta glucan in Skin & Biotics is of a yeast origin, extrated from the Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

PROBIOTICS: 4 strains of Lactobacillus.

Together the probiotics and the prebiotics (pectin & beta glucan) work together with the microbiome to produce fatty acids and enzymes needed to maintain a healthy gut.

Most frequent questions

What is the link between hormones and the gut microbiome?

We know the gut microbiome regulates the immune system, the brain, the nervous system, the digestion, the skin and almost every part of our body. But the latest science also links the regulation of hormones to the microbiome. For example, oestrogens and thyroids are regulated via enzymes produced by a healthy microbiome.

How does hormonal imbalance affect the skin?

Hormonal imbalance can affect the natural function of the skin barrier, making it more vulnerable to external aggressions. For example, a stress-induced cortisol imbalance can weaken this protective barrier. A drop in oestrogen levels can lead to thinning of the skin, wrinkles, dryness and slower healing. This decrease can also lead to an increase in androgen levels, which can stimulate the production of sebum on the skin, increase pore size and make the skin prone to acne.

What's the best time to take these capsules

The capsules should be taken in an empty stomach with plenty of water. Wait 30-40 minutes before drinking coffee or tea.

Are the capsules only for adult women?

They are formulated for anyone above the age of 12 who has signs of hormonal imbalance as well for those who wish to improve their gut health. They can be taken by teens as well as adult men.

Is the supplement vegan-friendly?

Yes. All ingredients are vegan and the outer capsule is vegetable cellulose.

Free from GMO, gluten, soy, dairy, bulking agents.

They contain probiotics, do they have to be refrigerated?

The capsules don't need to be refrigerated. However, if you live in an area with high temperature (above 25 degrees C), it is preferable to keep them in the fridge.

Can Skin & Biotics be taken in combination with Skin & Stress?

Yes, take 2 capsules of Skin & Biotics and only 1 capsule of Skin & Stress if combining the 2 food supplements.
